What the role is

The successful candidate will evaluate and enhance the operational effectiveness and user experience of Customs e-services on our transaction portal.

What you will be working on

The candidate will analyse web and user analytics data to assess the performance of both new and existing Customs e-services, examining user behaviour patterns, identifying drop-off points and friction points, and measuring key service effectiveness metrics. The candidate will translate data insights into actionable UI and UX improvements, propose data-driven solutions to enhance service delivery efficiency, and support the implementation of recommended improvements to achieve optimal service outcomes and enhanced user satisfaction.

What we are looking for

We are seeking motivated individuals with a keen interest in service operations optimisation and digital government services. You should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities for presenting findings to stakeholders. You must have an understanding of how to read and interpret web and digital data from logs, and be able to link it to digital user behaviours and interactions. Proficiency in Power BI or Python for data analysis and visualisation is preferred. This traineeship offers valuable hands-on experience in government service operations analytics, exposure to customs operations and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to public service improvements and digital transformation initiatives. You will understand how to improve government service delivery and build a portfolio of impactful analytical projects that drive measurable service outcomes.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
