What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector. You will be part of the Data Office within MinLaw’s Strategic Planning and Policy Division. The Data Office team develops and implements strategies that leverage digital technologies and artificial intelligence to drive innovation, improve operational efficiency, and create competitive advantages across the organisation. We are seeking an innovative Digitalisation and AI trainee to develop and implement MinLaw's digital and AI transformation initiatives. In this role, you will join the team in conceptualising, developing and implementing digital and AI solutions that enhance MinLaw’s government services and improve citizens' lives. The trainee will gain hands-on experience in applying digital and AI solutions to solve complex real-world problems in policy development and service delivery.

What you will be working on

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation across departments • Implementing digital and AI solutions and managing change • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and digital tools to enhance business operations • Collaborate with ITD and business divisions to ensure seamless integration of digital and AI solutions

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. • Strong understanding of digital technologies, cloud platforms, and data analytics. Familiarity with AI concepts, machine learning fundamentals, and automation tools. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data visualisation tools. Basic project management knowledge and methodologies. • Be able to translate ideas into strategies and action plans. • Be resourceful and able to identify and tap on, or seek resources, to implement action plans. • Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills • Strong planning, organisational, and interpersonal skills • Be a results-orientated, highly self-motivated and resilient person

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
