What the role is

Overall, the role contributes to enhancing oversight, accountability, and safe deployment of impactful generative AI tools within NDHQ.

What you will be working on

The officer will 1. Support the implementation of a registry system to track GenAI use cases across NDHQ. This includes categorising use cases by key features (e.g. knowledge retrieval, summarisation, drafting etc), risk level, and data classification. 2. Support the development and deployment of GenAI use cases, by aligning AI tools’ features with governance standards such as output quality, accuracy, and safety, while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and data protection protocols. 3. Work closely with business users and subject matter experts to perform technology scans, assess and assemble resources required for prototyping, and benchmark the performance of AI tools.

What we are looking for

We are looking for curious and motivated individuals with: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in engineering AI solutions to relieve painpoints faced by users from various business domains (e.g. corporate, research, policy) • Experience with data analysis, coding (e.g. Python), or machine learning concepts and application from prior coursework or projects. • Good communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders while maintaining project timelines. • A willingness to learn, adapt, and explore emerging technologies in a fast-evolving digital landscape within WOG.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
