What the role is

This traineeship is with the Service Planning, Design & Development team with the Customer eXperience Department. CXD leads MOM’s service excellence efforts to provide accessible, trusted and customer-centric services. By leveraging technology, data, and customer insights, CXD designs customer-centric touchpoints to achieve high first contact resolution, through digital-first but not digital only. We strongly promote the use of our eServices and our website to enable customers to enjoy maximum convenience.

What you will be working on

1. Support the conduct of user research and experiments to derive customer insights, product/experience positioning and strategies, including creating customer artefacts such as customer journey maps 2. Leverage data to enhance problem definition, size problems, and set success targets 3. Support the design of prototypes and test interventions, measure and quantify results for the purpose of scaling impact 4. Help to establish research ops, including sound and efficient protocols to recruit and incentivize research participants and document protocols

What we are looking for

• Good understanding of statistical analysis, inference and experimental design • Keen interest in improve service delivery in the public service • Some knowledge of /experience in cognitive science, psychology or information science • Excellent communication skills and empathy for MOM customers • Discipline and self-motivated • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
