What the role is

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Data Scientist specialising in AI/ML model development. In this role, you will contribute to developing and optimising AI models that power intelligent automation solutions, with opportunities to learn and grow in the field of large language models and their applications.

What you will be working on

(a) Model Development and Learning • Assist in developing and validating AI models, with focus on working with Large Language Models (LLMs) • Learn and apply prompt engineering techniques to improve model outputs • Help implement evaluation frameworks to assess model performance • Document experiments, findings, and model behaviours (b) Research and Implementation • Participate in experimentation efforts to improve model accuracy • Help implement solutions for document summarization and basic predictive analytics • Learn to integrate AI models into existing systems • Keep up-to-date with developments in AI/ML field • Assist in data preparation and preprocessing tasks (c) Analysis and Evaluation • Help conduct experiments to validate model performance • Assist in collecting and analysing model outputs • Prepare basic technical documentation and reports • Support the team in understanding and implementing stakeholder requirements

What we are looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field • Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and natural language processing • Experience with data visualization tools • Knowledge of Python programming • Strong desire to learn and grow in the field of AI/ML • Good analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work effectively in a team environment • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) • Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git)

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
