What the role is

The Digital Government for Business (DGB) Division at the Ministry of Trade and Industry is reimagining how Government serves businesses digitally. Our multidisciplinary team works to simplify compliance, improve coordination, and build services that businesses trust and value. We're seeking bold thinkers and passionate collaborators to help transform public service for businesses - come shape the future with us. Join our MTI-DGB Team for hands-on work that will enable the Singapore Government to partner businesses at the “speed of innovation”, improve Government-to-Business experience, and reduce the cost-to-serve.

What you will be working on

-As a Business Services Analyst, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Service Design and User Research. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of designers, policy officers, developers, and agency stakeholders to streamline licence workflows and application forms. -Under the guidance of Service and User Experience Designers, you will drive cross-agency engagements, develop Service Blueprints, and conduct desktop research and analysis that would directly result in recommendations to improve user experiences on the GoBusiness web portal. -Your fresh eyes will provide us with a valuable perspective and allow you to drive desktop research such as UX audits to review the: -Discoverability of licence information and application forms; -Clarity of content copy; and -Suitability of alternative communication formats, e.g.infographics.

We are looking for: -Graduates with a growth mindset, who work well in diverse teams, and are comfortable navigating ambiguity. -Passionate about user-centred design: We look for experience or knowledge of user research processes, the desire to drive research activities such as usability testing, A/B testing, stakeholder interviews, surveys, and analytical thinking that would help translate research findings into actionable recommendations. -Clear communicators: We are looking for individuals who can speak, write and present their thoughts clearly and credibly. -Independent thinkers: We look for individuals with initiative who see what needs to be done and do it. We want you to be self-directed but not siloed; collaborative but not dependent. Must have’s -Degree or Diploma in Human Computer Interactions, Design, Psychology, Computer Sciences or related disciplines. -Work experience (internships included) in Public Service, registering and running business startups, business process re-engineering (e.g. management consulting), software and product design. Bonus experience (Preferred) -UX certification(s) with a Service Design/Research portfolio of real-life client projects. -Experience with design tools and prototyping software such as Figma across digital platforms. -Experience with process improvement methodologies, service design, service blueprinting, project management, Agile and UX development environments.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
