You will be part of HPB’s Physical Activity Department, within the Physical Activity and Healthy Ageing Division, dedicated to making active living a cornerstone of daily life. The department empowers residents to stay active by improving knowledge, enhancing opportunities and support needed to build sustainable habits. The department designs and delivers effective programmes and initiatives, and partners government agencies, industry leaders, and key stakeholders to expand and improve access to a range of physical activity options. Grounded in evidence informed practice, data-driven insights, the department evolves its strategies and work to drive participation in physical activity and enhance well-being.

Scope

As a key member of Physical Activity team, you will design and develop a comprehensive digital exercise prescription journey within the Healthy365 mobile application. You will conduct user research to develop personalised experiences catered to different exercise needs and preferences across Singapore's diverse population. You will create personalised journey flows that provide exercise guidance based on user preferences, motivations, and barriers.

You will facilitate collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to design exercise prescription journeys that connect digital platforms with physical spaces. You will ensure that each journey helps different citizens in meeting their physical activity needs, including aerobic, strength, balance, and flexibility activities.

You will implement data collection mechanisms to track user engagement and exercise behaviours across different journey stages. You will use analytics to continuously optimise user journeys and refine recommendations, ensuring Healthy365 effectively connects each user with appropriate exercise options to sustain their physical activity levels.

What we are looking for

What an ideal candidate looks like

An ideal candidate will be a dynamic and self-motivated individual who possesses the following competencies and traits:

  • Degree in health sciences or related disciplines, with a preference for those with knowledge in sport science, public health, gerontology, or equivalent.

  • Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence to build rapport, manage expectations, and facilitate collaboration across internal and external partners, including healthcare professionals, community partners, and government agencies.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguous, high-pressure situations whilst maintaining solution-focused thinking and positive team dynamics.

  • Knowledge in system or app development processes and tools, such as Agile and JIRA, is preferred

  • Strong sense of intellectual curiosity to learn and seek continuous learning.

  • Tenacity, resilience and adaptability in tackling challenges.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
