What the role is

The UX traineeship position within the Transformation Office, focuses on user experience research and service optimisation to enhance citizen interactions with sports and recreation services. The trainee will develop competencies in user research, journey mapping, data analysis, and service design thinking whilst gaining experience translating user insights into actionable improvements.

What you will be working on

• Gather and document user feedback through surveys and data collection to identify pain points across service touchpoints • Develop detailed service journey maps to visualise citizen interactions with our services • Perform analysis of user feedback to generate actionable insights for service improvement decisions • Identify opportunities for process enhancement and service optimisation • Prepare research documentation and assist with implementing user-centred design solutions

What we are looking for

• Relevant degree qualification • Strong analytical and research skills with interest in user experience and service design • Good communication abilities and collaborative teamwork skills • Basic understanding of user research methodologies and data collection tools • Prior experience in user research, design thinking, or service improvement will be valued Key competencies required: • User research and data collection skills • Analytical thinking and insight generation • Service design and journey mapping capabilities • Communication and presentation skills • User-centric and adaptable mindset Only shortlisted applicants will be notified. The successful applicant will be offered a 6 month traineeship programme.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
