What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector. As an IT system implementation support trainee in the Finance and Procurement Division, you will support the administrative and logistical coordination of a large-scale enterprise IT system implementation project. This role offers valuable exposure to complex project management processes whilst contributing meaningfully to stakeholder coordination and project delivery activities. Key competencies you will develop: -Project Management - You will gain knowledge and experience in enterprise project management methodologies and how large-scale IT implementations are structured and executed. -Stakeholder Management and Communication - You will build skills in managing diverse stakeholder groups, navigating competing organisational priorities, and maintaining clear, effective communication channels across multiple levels and departments. -Change Management - You will gain experience in change management processes, helping you understand how organisations adapt to new technology implementations. -Government Procurement and Vendor Management - You will gain specialised knowledge of public sector IT procurement processes, vendor management and the technical aspects of system integration projects. -Professional Networking and Cross-Functional Collaboration - You will build valuable professional relationships with senior practitioners across various disciplines whilst developing skills in cross-functional teamwork and knowledge sharing.

What you will be working on

Administrative Support: -Assist in organising training & engagement sessions as well as other feedback collection activities across multiple stakeholder groups -Assist with preparation and distributing of project communications, updates, and announcements to relevant parties -Support the preparation of presentation materials and project status dashboards Logistical Coordination: -Facilitate venue bookings and equipment setup for project meetings and events -Assist with user acceptance testing and stakeholder engagement logistics, including user coordination -Support change management activities by organising training and communication campaigns

What we are looking for

-Relevant academic background or training in Information Systems/ Information Technology, Business Administration or Management, Computer Science with Business focus, Communications or Public Relations, and or related field. -Strong organisational skills and attention to detail -Excellent written and verbal communication abilities -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite -Strong initiative and adaptability with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
