What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector. As a Data Analyst Trainee, you will be part of HR Digital Office, within HR Solutions and Capabilities Division. The team supports and advises HR practitioners on leveraging HR data to drive positive outcomes. The team will manage HR data both in data analytics, e.g. develop workforce dashboards, work on new data projects, as well as data ops areas such as business data provision and ensuring data accuracy. This traineeship stint offers you a learning opportunity to work within a closely knitted and dynamic tech-data-HR business operating environment. Key areas/competencies to be developed: -Data collection and synthesis -Practical hands-on for stakeholders’ management -Product management skills -HR data domain knowledge -HR business in public sector context

What you will be working on

Key Responsibilities: -Maintain and develop Tableau dashboards for workforce insights -Explore innovative analytics opportunities with HR data -Manage data quality across HR datasets -Curate data provisions with key stakeholders

What we are looking for

-Practical experience in Tableau for creating compelling data visualisations and interactive dashboards -Familiarity with any additional data analytics tools (SQL, Excel, Python/R, etc.) -Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail for data quality assurance and validation -Good communication and comfortable with stakeholder management to translate data insights for HR teams and senior leadership

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
