What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector. As a Trainee in Infrastructure Policy & Sustainability within the Infrastructure and Facility Services Division, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible to formulate and implement policies on community sharing and use of school facilities. This includes onboarding school sports facilities under the MOE-SportSG Dual-Use Scheme (DUS), as well as enhancing current approaches and developing new models for community sharing. Competencies to be developed: -Policy Development and Implementation: Gain hands-on experience in formulating, reviewing, and implementing policies related to community sharing and facility management. -Project Management: Develop skills in planning, coordinating, and monitoring projects, including stakeholder engagement and milestone tracking. -Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Enhance capability to analyse complex issues, conduct feasibility studies, and devise effective solutions within a multidisciplinary environment. -Communication and Stakeholder Management: Strengthen interpersonal and communication skills through regular interaction with schools, government agencies, contractors, and community partners. -Collaboration and Leadership: Foster teamwork and leadership skills by driving collaborative initiatives and managing cross-agency partnerships.

What you will be working on

-Conduct feasibility assessments for community sharing initiatives, including potential DUS implementation at identified sports facilities by coordinating and conducting site reconnaissance with ActiveSG Centre Managers to evaluate selected school sports facilities. -Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of schools with community sharing facilities, including DUS sports fields, Indoor Sports Halls, and outdoor playcourts. -Organise and facilitate stakeholder meetings, track project milestones, and provide regular status updates through continuous monitoring and analysis of community sharing/ DUS performance metrics. -Address community sharing/ DUS operational challenges through regular engagement with the School Administration Team (SAT), particularly concerning facility management and compliance issues. -Drive collaborative efforts between schools and relevant agencies, e.g. Sport Singapore (SportSG) to enhance the effectiveness of the community sharing initiatives/ DUS.

What we are looking for

-Relevant academic background or training in Sports Management, Facility Management, Business Administration, or a related field. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen interest in community-sharing policies and a willingness to acquire technical knowledge. -Possess good interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills. -Proactive, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members and stakeholders, including schools, government agencies, contractors, and community partners. -Experience in policy formulation, project management, procurement practices and processes would be an advantage.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
