What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector. As an MOE School Facilities Management (FM) trainee with the Infrastructure and Facility Services Division, you will join a dynamic team that is transforming how we manage and maintain school campuses. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing the FM digitalisation effort by harvesting valuable insights through data analysis and driving the successful implementation and coordination of essential replacement works that directly enhance learning environments for students across Singapore. You stand to: -learn about the systems approach to manage a portfolio of over 300 school campuses at the corporate level, and the day-to-day school FM operations in schools. -gain data analysis experience in extracting insights from facility management systems and supporting FM digitalisation processes. -develop project management skills by supporting the implementation and coordination of replacement works within timelines and school operating constraints. -build strong communication skills through collaboration with school leaders, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

What you will be working on

-Create user-centric reporting templates and FM dashboards that transform data into actionable insights. -Enhance asset management processes and maintain accurate facility records through more robust and timely updates. -Deliver essential infrastructure replacements, such as toilet rejuvenation works that enhance school experiences.

What we are looking for

-Relevant academic background or training in Facilities Management, Building, or Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, or a related field. -Strong analytical thinking and communication skills to drive meaningful change. -Self-motivated team player who thrives in collaborative environments and takes initiative.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
