What the role is

Trainees will develop competencies in planning, managing, and implementing Whole-Of-Government HR and Payroll (HRP) systems that support the Public Service Transformation initiative of delivering seamlessly as One Public Service. This involves modernising HR and payroll processes while transforming service delivery through integrated digital solutions. Trainees will also gain experience in coordinating with IT project management office, policy owners, and agency stakeholders to plan future HRP developments, including policy harmonisation and technology assessment for HR domain applications.

What you will be working on

1. Evaluate and identify opportunities to harmonise, streamline and optimise HR and payroll processes. 2. Research and assess emerging technologies and digital solutions to support the development and enhancement of future HRP system capabilities. 3. Support the maintenance and operation of the HRP system.

Possess strong multitasking abilities with an organized and meticulous approach to work. 5. Has a team oriented mindset and can thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
