What the role is
Join the SkillsFuture Singapore Agency as a Jobs-Skills Research & Analytics Trainee in the Jobs-Skills Insights Division (JSID). Trainees will have the opportunity to be involved in the end-to-end production of jobs-skills insights that are either published on SSG’s Jobs-Skills Portal or are used to support data-driven policy and planning efforts. Trainees can sharpen competencies in research and methodology development, analytical thinking and statistical reasoning, data storytelling and insights communication.
What you will be working on
- Conceptualise lines-of-inquiry and develop analytical methodologies as a team, demonstrating research and analysis competencies
- Prepare and structure data for analysis using programming languages such as Python or SQL, developing technical competencies in data management, processing, and validation
- Translate data and analytical insights into clear, compelling, and actionable narratives for diverse audiences including individuals, enterprises, education providers, and policymakers
- Create data visualisations to support insights and disseminate the insights via specific channels and formats, engaging various user groups and collecting feedback to enhance the relevance and impact of research outputs
- Conduct literature reviews and landscape studies to support research and development on jobs and skills, building foundational knowledge in quantitative and qualitative research methods
What we are looking for
- Relevant academic background or training in Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science and Analytics, or related fields
- Technical Skills: Python, SQL, statistical analysis (regression), and data visualisation (Tableau)
- Research Capabilities: Quantitative and qualitative research methods, literature reviews, and analytical methodology development
- Communication: Data storytelling and translating complex insights into actionable narratives for diverse audiences
Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging various user groups (individuals, enterprises, education providers, policymakers) and collecting feedback

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship
The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.
All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
- Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
- Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.
Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
