What the role is

The Digital Transformation Cluster (DTC) is responsible for driving digital transformation efforts in enterprises across major economic sectors and ecosystems in Singapore. The cluster works closely with public and private sectors to drive impactful digitalisation initiatives, helping local enterprises solve complex business-technology problems, involving business model transformation, innovative technology applications and regulatory considerations. We focus on identifying and developing enterprises that are digital leaders in their various sectors or are digitally savvy companies that could adopt next-bound technologies to transform, stay productive and competitive for business growth. We work with these enterprise digital leaders to help uplift their leadership bench with critical know-how, build confidence as they adopt digital and support digital capabilities development to help sustain digital efforts. Some key digital tech focus areas today include the adoption of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), AI/GenAI, Digital Twin and Extended Reality.

For this DD DTC role, you will lead a team to support IMDA’s vision in driving initiatives to build digital leaders, with a targeted tech focus on AMRs. You will need to be data-driven, guide your team to implement and sharpen our AMR strategies and initiatives, conduct research and analysis, support development of new AMR technologies with the aim of benefiting more enterprises as they adopt AMR to transform. You will help to identify key enablers and secure resources required to scale AMR adoption amongst our digital leaders, collaborate with other government agencies, stakeholders, technology providers, industry associations or multipliers, as well as end users to deliver IMDA’s vision. When required, you will be called to lead cross-divisional teams to embark on new tech projects/initiatives beyond AMRs, and thus must be versatile and guide teams accordingly.

What you will be working on

As DD DTC, your responsibilities include:

  • Division-level leadership – Experience in leading a team and inspiring them to work in partnership with government agencies, enterprises, and technology providers to identify, convince and implement digital transformation projects and/or initiatives. This includes securing, managing and monitoring resources, working closely with various parts of IMDA.  As this is a senior role, you will need to be able to work with other DDs within the cluster, supporting the cluster’s vision holistically.
  • People development – Experience in attracting and hiring best-in-class talent to the team; guiding the team leads and team members, and developing plans to grow, train and retain talents in the team.
  • Stakeholder management and influence - Develop strong relationships with and manage a wide range of stakeholders across both public and private sectors to drive successful completion of projects and achieving the intended project objectives.  

What we are looking for

You would need to have:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with strong experience in stakeholder engagement and management.
  • A good degree and with at least 10 years of leadership or supervisory experience in the business-tech function and/or project management space, preferably in the AMR area.
  • Strong team-player spirit, excellent analytical skills, and perseverance to follow through with assignments in a timely manner. Ability to function with ambiguity, visualise outcomes and provide clarity for the stakeholders and partners. Must be comfortable with a dynamic environment and drive targets/outcomes.

Position will be commensurate with experience.
