What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

The Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA) – Talent Acquisition and Planning (TAP) Traineeship offers exposure to talent acquisition, HR business partnering, employer branding, and workforce analytics within CDA's Human Resource Division. The trainee will support end-to-end recruitment activities, contribute to employer branding initiatives, and assist in building data dashboards that surface meaningful recruitment insights for the team.

The programme develops both operational and analytical HR skills through hands-on experience in recruitment coordination, candidate engagement, and data visualisation. The trainee will build competencies in talent acquisition processes, branding strategy, and dashboard development, preparing them for careers in HR or data analytics while contributing to CDA's efforts to attract and retain top talent.

What you will be working on

We are seeking a motivated, creative and detail-oriented trainee to support our Talent Acquisition and Planning team across recruitment operations, employer branding, and HR analytics. This role offers practical, hands-on exposure to the full spectrum of talent acquisition work within a dynamic public service environment.

Talent Acquisition Support

You will assist with end-to-end recruitment activities, including drafting and posting job advertisements, scheduling and coordinating interviews, and liaising with hiring managers and candidates throughout the hiring process. You will gain practical exposure to recruitment best practices and public service hiring frameworks.

Employer Branding

You will contribute to employer branding projects aimed at strengthening CDA's profile as an employer of choice. This includes supporting the development of branding materials, social media content, and recruitment campaigns that communicate CDA's culture, values, and career opportunities to prospective candidates.

Dashboard and HR Analytics

You will assist in building and maintaining recruitment dashboards that track key hiring metrics such as time-to-fill, pipeline status, and source effectiveness. This involves working with data to generate visual reports that support the TAP team in making informed, data-driven decisions.

You may also be asked to support other ad-hoc duties related to the project or team operations, as needed.

What we are looking for

Job Requirements

  • Fresh graduate who has completed studies, with an interest in HR processes, talent acquisition and data analytics

  • Strong written communication skills and an eye for visual storytelling and branding

  • Comfortable working with data and keen to develop dashboard or data visualisation skills

  • Possess a collaborative mindset with eagerness to learn

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024, 2025 or 2026 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024, 2025 or 2026.
  • Applicants must have no prior working experience and must be prepared to commit to a full-time traineeship.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2026 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2027 are eligible for the programme as well.

About Communicable Diseases Agency

The Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA) was established in 2025 as a statutory board under Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) to serve as the central authority for public health policymaking to manage and control the threat of communicable diseases. This is aimed at strengthening Singapore's public health capabilities built during the COVID-19 response to ensure a unified command and coordinated approach across all situations, from routine disease control to future outbreaks. CDA safeguards the nation from communicable diseases through disease surveillance, outbreak investigations, vaccination programs, public education, and global health collaboration.
