What the role is
The Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA) - Social Media Traineeship will allow the trainee to gain experience in managing CDA’s digital presence, with a primary focus on social media management. The traineeship involves creating engaging social media content, including content conceptualisation, copywriting, visual design, and video production, while monitoring performance metrics and supporting community management for CDA’s social media channels.
What you will be working on
The trainee will support CDA's Corporate Communications Division in managing and enhancing our social media channels. Your primary responsibilities include:
Conceptualising and creating engaging social media content
Crafting compelling copy for various platforms
Designing visuals and producing videos for social posts
Monitoring social media performance
Compiling and analysing social media metrics for reporting
Supporting community management
What we are looking for
Job Requirements
Fresh graduate who has completed studies in communications, media production, education, or related fields
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and to engage stakeholders
Familiarity with various social media platforms
Experience with design and video editing softwares (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, or CapCut)
Basic understanding of social media analytics tools
Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Prior experience and track record in content creation for social media preferred
Hands-on experience in digital content creation, photography, and videography to produce compelling visual assets would be advantageous
Resourceful and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Strong work ethic with ownership and accountability
Key Competencies Required
Digital Communication & Content Creation – Strong ability to craft engaging, clear and appropriate content across various social media platforms; understanding of visual storytelling, tone adaptation, and audience-specific messaging whilst maintaining brand consistency.
Creative Design & Video Production – Proficiency in basic design and video editing using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, or CapCut; hands-on experience in digital content creation, photography, and videography to produce compelling visual assets.
Learning & Adapting to Digital Trends – Possesses the drive and curiosity to stay current with evolving social media platforms, algorithms, and digital marketing trends; ability to quickly learn new tools and adapt strategies based on platform updates.
Analytical Thinking & Performance Optimisation – Basic understanding of social media analytics tools with ability to interpret data effectively, analyse audience engagement patterns, and draw actionable insights to improve content performance; strong attention to detail in monitoring campaign effectiveness and ROI.
Building Online Communities & Engagement – Ability to foster meaningful interactions with diverse online audiences, respond appropriately to comments and messages, and build authentic relationships that strengthen brand loyalty and community engagement.
Risk Awareness & Professional Communication – Demonstrate awareness of potential reputational risks in social media communications; ability to seek guidance when uncertain and communicate professionally in all online interactions whilst learning organisational protocols.
Team Collaboration & Support – Willingness to work collaboratively with team members and other departments; ability to support content planning activities and contribute ideas whilst learning from experienced colleagues and following established guidelines.

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.
All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
- Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
- Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.
Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
