What the role is

This traineeship provides an opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of JTC's sustainability policies.

What you will be working on

The trainee will primarily focus on: 1) Policy Data Collection and Review: Systematically gather data on existing JTC policies related to sustainability. This involves reviewing various policy aspects to ensure alignment with JTC's established sustainability framework. 2) Identification of Improvement Areas: Analyze current policies to identify specific areas for improvement, recommending enhancements to strengthen JTC's sustainability commitments and practices. Additionally, the trainee will gain practical exposure to JTC's broader sustainability efforts by attending progress meetings for sustainability innovation projects. This will provide insights into the latest developments, outcomes, and the operational processes involved in managing innovation projects within a corporate setting. This role is well-suited for candidates interested in environmental policy, corporate governance, and sustainable development. Key competencies to be developed: Policy Making, Sustainability Development, Corporate Governance

Background in Civil &Structural/Mechanical & Electrical/Environmental Engineering or Public Policy

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
