What the role is

You will be part of a team that supports the planning and management of the Ministry’s corporate resourcing needs, particularly in the areas of parliamentary and official gifts support. You will play a key role in enhancing our systems and processes through the use of digital solutions. This traineeship provides an excellent opportunity to build competencies in collaboration and stakeholder management, project management, communication and business domain knowledge.

What you will be working on

The officer will assist Senior Assistant Director/Corporate Resources to: (i) administer Parliamentary Question (PQ) processes such as coordinating inputs from divisions and putting up submissions to management; (ii) explore using technologies such as RPA, AI and LLMs to improve PQ routing processes and improving the quality of PQ replies and speeches; and (iii) improve other corporate processes such as the administration of corporate gifts received by MND officers in the course of their work.

What we are looking for

Candidate should have: • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities • Attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to work independently and in teams • Digital literacy and ability to independently learn new digital tools • Some understanding of Singapore's parliamentary processes will be an advantage.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
