What the role is

Assist forensic pathologists in coronial medico-legal death investigations, assist in post-mortem examinations of human/biological remains, and support the daily operations of the mortuary.

What you will be working on

  • Assist in the processing of daily Coroner's cases, from the preparation of cases to the release of bodies to the undertaker.
  • Assist forensic pathologists in the (coronial) investigations into the cause of death, assist in post-mortem examinations of human/biological remains, etc.
  • Maintain autopsy suites in a manner that ensures a safe workplace.
  • Able to respond to potential biosafety breaches in the workplace.
  • Assist in monitoring the supply and usage of mortuary supplies, instruments and equipment. To maintain order and stock necessary supplies for the proper function of the mortuary, and for emergencies/disasters.
  • Monitor the security and safety aspects of the facility to maintain functionality of the security system and respond to any potential security breaches.
  • Provide technical support in the mortuary and the histology laboratory

What we are looking for

  • Background in Biomedical Science or equivalent
  • Must be willing to work on a rostered schedule which may include weekends and Public Holidays
