Join the JSID team at SSG to develop and disseminate Jobs-Skills Insights that empower stakeholders to make informed decisions on jobs and skills matters

• Engage stakeholders to understand their needs and identify how Jobs-Skills Insights can address their needs
• Conduct big data analysis and research on in-demand, emerging and future jobs and skills, tapping on business, labour and market intelligence and the National Jobs-Skills Intelligence (NJSI) engine
• Synthesize insights and validate with stakeholders such as innovation-led enterprises and experts
• Disseminate Jobs-Skills Insights via omni-channels and formats to maximise outreach and adoption

What you will be working on

The Jobs-Skills Analyst plays a pivotal role in advancing SSG's mission to enable individuals to learn for life, pursue skills mastery, and develop fulfilling careers for a future-ready Singapore. This position is central to driving a skills-centric approach within and beyond SSG, contributing directly to SSG's vision as the National Skills Authority. The individual contributor role involves studying, monitoring, and analyzing business operations, technology deployments, and value chains to understand their impact on jobs and skills, while developing timely, relevant, and actionable Jobs-Skills Insights that support decision-making across diverse stakeholder groups.

Data Analysis & Research:

  • Conduct comprehensive quantitative and qualitative research to identify in-demand, emerging, and future jobs and skills
  • Extract, structure, and process large datasets using programming languages such as Python and SQL, applying advanced statistical methods including regression analysis to derive meaningful insights from complex data
  • Develop compelling data visualizations using tools like Tableau to support analytics and insights development

Insights Development & Communication:

  • Synthesize research outputs and analytical results to develop fit-for-purpose Jobs-Skills Insights that meet end-user needs
  • Ensure insights are accessible and relevant to diverse stakeholder groups

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage diverse end-users including individuals, enterprises, education providers, and policymakers to understand their requirements for Jobs-Skills Insights
  • Set appropriate indicators, collecting data, and analyzing effectiveness based on intended outcomes
  • Work effectively across teams and with partners to achieve shared purposes

Dissemination & Continuous Improvement:

  • Distribute Jobs-Skills Insights through appropriate channels and formats tailored to different audiences
  • Systematically collect and analyze feedback from end-user groups to continuously refine and improve insights delivery and methodology

What we are looking for

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • The required competencies to execute the job duties proficiently
  • Manager: Up to 6 years of relevant work experience.  Those with no relevant experience but have been involved in relevant projects or short stints in similar areas / functions can apply
  • Senior Manager: At least 6 years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data extraction and processing
  • Experience with statistical analysis, particularly regression and forecasting methods
  • Competency in data visualization tools, especially Tableau
  • Strong analytical thinking, quantitative and qualitative research capabilities
  • Proven ability to translate complex insights into compelling narratives for diverse audiences
  • Thrives in diverse environments and navigates ambiguity with confidence while adapting readily to dynamic changes
  • Critical thinker who challenges the status quo through effective sense-making
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with a track record of building effective working relationships

Successful candidates will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance and may be considered for an extension or be placed on a permanent tenure.

About SkillsFuture Singapore

SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Education (MOE). It will drive and coordinate the implementation of the national SkillsFuture movement, promote a culture and holistic system of lifelong learning through the pursuit of skills mastery, and strengthen the ecosystem of quality education and training in Singapore. SSG will strengthen the adult training infrastructure by taking on all existing functions of the Committee for Private Education (CPE) and guide the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) to enhance the capabilities and professionalism of adult educators. SSG will play a key role in the quality assurance for private education institutions and adult training centres. Together with educational institutions and training partners, SSG will ensure that students and working adults have access to high quality, industry-relevant training throughout life. SSG will also bring together synergies in continuing education and training (CET) and pre-employment training (PET), so skills requirements will continue to meet the demands of different sectors of the economy.
