What the role is

The Information Technology Group (ITG) drives the adoption of technologies to deliver the Ministry’s services to individuals, families and the community.

What you will be working on

Responsibilities: - Responsible for uncovering operational pain points and inefficiencies where AI could provide meaningful solutions and automation opportunities. - Design and support development of AI prototypes to across divisions to maximise adoption and integration success. - Monitor performance of deployed AI projects and develop strategies to expand successful implementations throughout MSF. - Conduct workshops and collaborate with stakeholders to build AI literacy and facilitate organisation-wide adoption of AI tools. - Track and report on AI initiative outcomes, including efficiency gains and cost savings, while supporting long-term AI strategy development.

What we are looking for

Functional/Technical Competencies Required: - Good understanding of LLMs, how they work, how to do prompt engineering effectively, and how to build apps with them, their applications, and associated risks. - Keen interests in AI development, including development in global AI regulations and guidelines. - Competent in Python programming, with some familiarity of cloud deployments for ML models and LLMs General Competencies Required: - Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences. - Strong stakeholder management skills to work with both local and overseas partners and stak - Self-motivated, thinks proactively and creatively about how to solve challenges - Desire to build tech for the public good

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024, 2025 or 2026 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024, 2025 or 2026.
  • Applicants must have no prior working experience and must be prepared to commit to a full-time traineeship.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2026 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2027 are eligible for the programme as well.
