You are responsible to lead and drive a team of research analysts in the conduct of strategic and operational research and analysis on the Indo-Pacific, and other regions of geopolitical importance to Singapore. Your work provides strategic early warning for MINDEF/SAF and supports decision-making, defence relations, capability development and operational planning. You are also expected to lead and maintain partner engagements with foreign counterparts, and conduct exchanges both locally and overseas to share and deepen knowledge.

What you will be working on
- Lead and drive team of research analysts in strategic and operational research and analysis on Indo-Pacific and selected countries of interest in other regions
- Provide strategic early warning for MINDEF/SAF and support decision-making, defence relations, capability development and operational planning
- Keep pace with political, military and security landscape of countries of interest and their global interactions to identify new trends and developments
- Lead and maintain partner engagements with foreign counterparts
- Conduct exchanges locally and overseas to share and deepen knowledge
- Lead small team of capable research analysts ensuring professional development, well-being and resilience
- Innovate business processes to improve productivity and message delivery whilst collaborating with different stakeholders
- Synthesise and analyse large amounts of information to form coherent assessments and communicate findings to non-specialist stakeholders

What we are looking for
- Education in Political Science, International Relations, or History is preferred
- Keen interest in global affairs and security developments
- At least 15 years of relevant experience
- Relevant knowledge on countries of interest
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong analytical, research and communication skills
- Thesis-writing research experience is advantageous
- Comfortable with cross-cultural communication and relationship building
