Finance Officer (Contract) - SPF/ CAD

As a Finance Officer under the under the Management Executive Scheme, you will be part of a team supporting the Commercial Affairs Department’s (CAD) operations, which is essential in helping CAD achieve its mission of preventing, deterring, and detecting financial crime. The Finance Officer reports to Head, Corporate Support Division (CSD) and is expected to provide timely, efficient and effective finance support to achieve CAD’s crime-fighting mission. This would require someone who has a good understanding of finance policies and practices. Through such knowledge and experience, the officer will be better placed to advise and support users on finance-related requests. Your key responsibilities include: • Planning and managing CAD’s budget; • Providing guidance to CAD’s users on finance-related queries; • Managing the processes related to public monies transactions; • Serving as the point-of-contact between internal requestors and finance staff authorities; • Ensuring that finance processes/practices are in line with prevailing policies; • Conducting sample finance audit checks and other internal controls to ensure proper governance; and • Reviewing and re-designing work processes to improve efficiency of processes

Requirements • Field of studies in accountancy, business studies, finance or other related discipline; • 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance; • Proficiency in MS Office applications; • Able to work independently with minimum supervision; • Able to work under pressure with tight deadlines; • Have a good grasp of English Language and possess good communication and writing skills.
