What the role is

This role involves supporting NCSS's data management operations by tracking queries, improving governance processes, and maintaining the Data Management Site and bot for optimal user experience. The position focuses on building a data-driven culture within NCSS while strengthening organisational data capabilities, with opportunities to participate in cross-functional projects for broader business exposure.

What you will be working on

  • Assist in managing and tracking data queries and improving data governance processes
  • Support in the management of NCSS Data Management Site and bot, as well as upkeeping the content on the site to be intuitive and easy for consumption
  • Support in building a data driven culture and strengthening data capabilities within NCSS
  • Opportunity to participate in cross-functional project(s) to gain broader business understanding

What we are looking for

Functional / Technical Competencies Required

  • Data Management: Ability to manage, analyse and interpret datasets and perform data simple visualisation
  • Change Management: Ability to understand resistance for change, and apply change principles and processes to effect sustainable change
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data manipulation

General Competencies

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, and ability to present information clearly
  • Interest in exploring new ways to improve user experience in navigating policies and processes
  • Meticulous and organised, ability to work independently under time pressure

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
