Engineer/Senior/Dy Principal Engineer (Department of Sustainability Programmes)
What the role is
What you will be working on
You will be responsible for developing and implementing programmes, as well as building capability and partnerships across the industry on waste-to-resource management and energy efficiency issues. Your duties will include the following.
Prepare communication plan and engage stakeholders to promote adoption of energy efficient and waste reduction/recycling technologies and solutions
Plan, develop, implement and manage projects related to resource conservation, waste management and energy efficiency.
Engage and build partnerships with and among industry stakeholders and other agencies to drive sustainable waste-to-resource management and improvements in energy efficiency.
Administer capability building, partnership and recognition programmes.
Work with stakeholders, including agencies and external organisations, to develop training resources and facilitate sharing of best practices to support companies in their waste management and/or energy efficiency efforts.
Review existing programmes/schemes on sustainable waste-to-resource management and energy efficiency and recommend enhancements/refinements or develop new programmes.
Administer incentive schemes and evaluate grant applications to facilitate adoption of energy efficient and waste management technologies and solutions
Review effectiveness of grant schemes in achieving their intended outcomes and efficiency of the grants management process
Support national efforts towards becoming a Zero Waste Nation and mitigating climate change through energy efficiency and decarbonisation.
What we are looking for
Degree in Environmental/Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering with at least 2 years of work experience in the sustainability field. Applicants with degree in other engineering fields with work experience in a related field may also be considered.
Preferably with at least 2-5 years of relevant experience in the administration, evaluation and development of sustainability programmes, grants and/or incentive schemes in energy efficiency and waste management technologies and solutions.
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Resourceful, self-driven and able to work independently.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills
