What the role is

You will join AGD’s Financial Reporting (FR) Directorate to help in financial reporting, financial reporting systems projects, and other related accounting reports. You will participate in the development and implementation of new central solutions that help to streamline work processes or improve user experience.

What you will be working on

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: • Be involved in the development and implementation of enhancements for the Government financial system to meet IRAS’s requirement for the transmission of invoice data for tax administration purposes (GST InvoiceNow Requirement); • Manage IT vendors to ensure that the development and implementation of InvoiceNow or other solutions/ enhancements to the Government financial system w are implemented by the required timelines; • Address queries from both internal and external stakeholders on InvoiceNow or other solutions/ enhancements implemented; • Keep abreast of latest updates such as regulatory requirements and software updates, and assess impact of such updates on the existing processes; • Develop Ops-Tech competencies through hands-on opportunities in working with third-party system vendor to perform system enhancements through evaluating solutioning options, change impact assessment, user acceptance testing, user change management and deployment of solution; • Be involved in the review of existing Government policies or clauses in relation to financial reporting and processes to strengthen financial controls; • Streamline work processes through the implementation of automation such as using programming language, automation tools and problem-solving skills to increase work efficiency and productivity.

What we are looking for

Functional/Technical Competencies • Tertiary education in Accountancy, Business, Finance, IT, Systems Management or any related disciplines. • Interest in Operations-Technology work • Excellent numeracy and writing skills with high proficiency in using Microsoft Excel • Ability to provide sound analysis and recommendations on issues to senior management for decision making • Experience in financial and management reporting is a plus • Good knowledge of automation skillsets like Python, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and coding skills is a plus Generic Competencies • Meticulous and good time management skills • Able to work independently and multi-task with minimal supervision • Team-player with positive working attitude and a strong mindset for learning and growth • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and good communication and interpersonal skills • Proactive in partnering with stakeholders on projects implementation or problem resolution You will be notified whether you have been shortlisted within 4 weeks from the closing date of this job posting.
