What the role is

As a Trainee at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), you will be involved in the data engine development for Embodied Artificial Intelligence.

What you will be working on

Develop data collection system for embodied intelligence robot using tele-operation of physical robot with various sensors (eg data glove and VR glass) and with the simulation engine.

What we are looking for

Job Requirements • Good software development skills in C/C++, Python • BEng/M.Sc. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Science/Engineering, Machine Learning, or related fields • Experience of doing hands-on project in robotic and/or simulation system is useful • Knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System), Linux and dynamic simulations engines (eg NVIDIA ISAAC Sim) will be beneficial • Good communication skills, team player, passionate in robotics, and resourceful Key Competencies Required • Programming capability in C++, Python and Robot Operating System (ROS)2 • Operational capability of industry-scale robots, including humanoids, both for data collection, validation and testing • Robotic sensors, including camera, microphone, lidar or depth camera, IMU, encoders, force/torque and tactile sensors • Embodied AI Data management

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
