What the role is

The role involves establishing automated data pipelines for Capability data extraction and transformation, supporting business intelligence platform development using tools like Microsoft Power BI to enable strategic decision-making, and organising information and SOPs across the Group to ensure operational consistency and effective knowledge management.

What you will be working on

- Set up and automate data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading Capability data to ensure their timely availability and reliability;
- Support the development and updating of business intelligence platforms (e.g. with Microsoft Power BI) to help CaG leaders and colleagues in monitoring strategic and operational outputs and outcomes, and make effective decisions.
- Support efforts to organize and catalogue information and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the Group to facilitate operational consistency and knowledge management

What we are looking for

Functional/Technical Competencies Required:
- Knowledge/interest in organisational or manpower capability issues, and/or the social service sector
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and R/Python. Prior training/experience in Microsoft Power BI is a bonus.
General Competencies:
- Strong data management and visualisation skills
- Good analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Good written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Eagerness to learn new tools and techniques

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
