What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector. The trainee will be part of a team which develops key initiatives to drive digital communications and engagement initiatives in the Home Team (HT). They will have the chance to be involved in the researching of social media topics for the HT, producing newsletters on the evolving digital landscape, and overseeing the conduct of communication evaluation studies. They will get to appreciate the importance of social listening and how that can support in the communication on HT work. They will also be tasked to oversee the training sessions to upskill frontline and comms officers on digital content creation and AI.

What you will be working on

The trainee is expected to: • Research on new digital and social media trends and publish the findings through our in-house newsletters • Keep a pulse on influencers landscape to identify suitable ones for HT campaigns • Monitor sentiments related to the HT through social listening • Develop and execute ideas that will enhance engagement with the HT comms community on key initiatives • Analyse survey and sentiments reports to drive data-driven evaluation of HT comms efforts • Facilitate learning and training curriculum of workshops to train HT officers on communications, including on emerging technology like AI

What we are looking for

• Good knowledge of digital and content marketing trends, and curiosity on new and emerging tech tools • Understanding of data and research methods • Ability to collaborate and coordinate work with various internal and external teams • Good project management skills • Strong inter-personal skills • Good written and design skills

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
