What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector. The Singapore Police Force (SPF) plays a critical role in keeping Singapore safe and secure with our mission to prevent, deter and detect crime. The Manpower Department is the staff authority for key manpower-related issues within SPF. The mission of the Manpower Department is to recruit, retain and develop the right people, as well as provide an appropriate exit system for our officers. As an Assistant Executive (Marketing & Publicity) in the Manpower Department, you will be part of a highly skilled team in attracting talents to ensure a pipeline of future officers for the SPF. In this role, you will be exposed to a wide range of work areas including employer branding, campaign planning, digital and social media management, event outreach, and stakeholder engagement

What you will be working on

You will assist the Manager (Marketing & Publicity) and Assistant Director (Talent Attraction Division) in attracting and inspiring our target audience to take up a career with the SPF. You will also: • Develop and implement marketing campaigns to publicize uniformed career opportunities within the SPF • Liaise with various stakeholders (internal and external) for recruitment outreach matters • Support the coordination and management of on-site photo and video shoots • Coordinate and support various outreach events, career fairs and talks as a career adviser • Design simple publicity materials with copywriting, including eDMs and posters, using tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud • Assist in monitoring and analysing the effectiveness of the outreach efforts, identifying areas for improvement and new opportunities

What we are looking for

Requirement • Relevant field of study and/or qualifications; • Good communication and written skills; • Results-driven, as well as meticulous with a keen eye for detail; • Good time management and able to meet tight deadlines; • Comfortable working in a multi-tasked and fast-paced environment; • Able to work independently whilst being a good team player with strong interpersonal skills; • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Work and PowerPoint); • Technical proficiency in relevant fields (i.e. experience with creative design software such as Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud) would be an added advantage; and • Class 3A licence would be an added advantage Short-listed candidates will be notified within two weeks after the closing date for applications.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
