What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

This internship offers a recent university graduate the opportunity to gain hands on experience in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digitalisation solutions to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery in Admissions, Examinations, Academic Operations, and Data Analytics.

The intern will work closely with the team to review existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and pilot innovative digital tools that strengthen productivity, accuracy, and data-driven decision-making across academic operations.

What you will be working on

  • Conduct process mapping and analysis to identify areas where digitalisation or AI can enhance efficiency and outcomes.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend suitable AI or digital tools to streamline workflows and improve service delivery.
  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of prototype or proof-of-concept solutions.
  • Support data collection, cleaning, and visualisation to generate insights for process improvement and performance monitoring.
  • Document current processes, key findings, and proposed enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand operational requirements and assess the feasibility of digital solutions.
  • Prepare presentation materials and reports to communicate project findings and recommendations.

What we are looking for

  • Degree in an Engineering, Technology or Science Based field
  • Interest in process improvement and applying technology to solve operational challenges
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel or basic data analysis tools would be an advantage

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
