What the role is

This traineeship with with the Manpower Planning and Policy Division (MPPD). MPPD is responsible for workforce planning, labour market policy and HR sector development. The HR Sector Development Department plays a strategic role in enabling human capital development in organisations to support business and workforce transformation. It works closely with tripartite and sectoral partners, as well as HR and industry leaders to: -strengthen the HR profession, -grow a vibrant and robust HR ecosystem, and -support workplace integration efforts in Singapore.

What you will be working on

You will be part of the team spearheading the development of policies and strategies to transform the HR industry and strengthen HR practices in Singapore. These will support wider workforce and business transformation efforts in Singapore's new phase of economic development. Your work includes: - developing national level strategies and initiatives to drive human capital capability development for HR professionals and organisations, - collaborate and engage ecosystem partners and stakeholders to implement the initiatives, understand gaps in the system and drive advocacy for the importance of strong HC capabilities

• Independent worker who thinks critically and is passionate about making a positive impact • Strong analytical skills to assess policies and develop HR strategies aligned with economic goals • Experience with data analysis and research to support decision-making • Good organisational skills to manage projects and deliver results • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities to work with diverse stakeholders

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
