What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector. Join the Home Team Medical Services Division (HTMSD)'s Digital Transformation team as a Digital Health Projects Trainee, where you will support healthcare improvement initiatives for Home Team officers. This traineeship offers hands-on exposure to digital health projects, including automation, workflow analysis and optimisation, and system improvements. You will develop skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and technical problem-solving whilst contributing to meaningful healthcare delivery improvements for the Home Team.

What you will be working on

• Develop solutions through coding and/or automation tools (e.g., Python, UIPath) for digital health projects such as medical document management, chatbots, data processing, etc. • Create process maps for patient journeys using design thinking methodologies and tools, transforming complex healthcare workflows into clear, actionable visualisations. • Collaborate with business users and/or IT teams to identify automation opportunities and assist with project ideation and coordination. • Contribute to larger digital health projects based on business needs and your developing skills/ interests.

What we are looking for

• Prior experience and basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python) with foundational understanding of AI and automation technologies. • Prior experience using process visualisation tools such as Visio or similar platforms. • Keen interest in digital transformation, innovation and process improvement. • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail. • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team environments.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
