Scope
You will be a part of HPB’s Research & Development team, which strives to advance health promotion efforts through the translation of research to practice. You will play an important role in charting the next generation of health promotion by distilling learnings and insights from cutting-edge research, rich data and novel technologies for deployment in nation-scale population platforms.
As a key member of Research & Development team, you will work in a cross-functional matrix team and contribute to high-impact projects in priority growth areas.
You will leverage multi-dimensional health and lifestyle data from mobile applications and wearables to generate actionable insights using a variety of AI and data science techniques.
You will develop predictive models that provide citizens with personalised feedback on their lifestyle choice to drive healthier behaviours.
You will develop compelling data-driven narratives for impactful storytelling to both internal and external stakeholders.
You will support the translation of data-driven insights, algorithms and predictive models to practice in the real-world through HPB programmes.
What we are looking for
An ideal candidate will be a dynamic and self-motivated individual who possesses the following competencies and traits:
- Degree in data science, computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Expertise in statistical techniques of multivariate modelling and advanced analytics (e.g. machine learning, k-means cluster)
- Knowledge in classical AI and generative AI and associated concepts is preferred.
- Strong sense of intellectual curiosity to learn and seek continuous learning.
- Ability to work cohesively in fast-paced teams and navigate stressful, ambiguous situations in a positive manner.
- Strong communication skills, especially in communicating technical findings to a non-technical audience
- Tenacity, resilience and adaptability in tackling challenges.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship
The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.
All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
- Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
- Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.
Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
