What the role is

You are responsible for managing disciplinary matters relating to pre and post-punishment processes for both military and civil offences.

What you will be working on

- Manage suspension, discharge cases and other administrative actions - Manage forfeiture of medals, cancellation of appointments and reduction of benefits - Manage offence severity classifications - Act as the Subject Matter Expert for withholding of payments - Review, formulate and implement discipline policy at the SAF Level - Plan, develop and implement offence prevention education activities and customised education packages/infographics on discipline matters - Cross check with counterparts in Joint, Army and Air Force to ensure consistency in treatment of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) servicemen - Liaise with MINDEF policy makers and Legal Services to ensure RSN's conformity to regulations and policy - Attend meetings and frequent discussions on policy changes, clarifications on precedence with relevant stakeholders - Exercise good judgement with inputs received, analyse cases at hand and provide fair, compliant and legally defensible recommendations to proper authorities - Perform any tasks undertaken by team whenever team member in charge is absent from work due to lean structure in branch Challenge(s) - Keeping in tune with myriad of HR policies in MINDEF/SAF as any changes to policies will affect work processes - Maintaining good working knowledge of numerous electronic systems - Playing supervisory role and performing review of internal work procedures and processes to ensure effective and efficient post offence administration - Communicating tactfully and assertively with officers and senior commanders on policy matters while dealing with people of different backgrounds and being sensitive when dealing with them

What we are looking for

- At 5 years of HR experience, discipline and offence management related experience is preferred - Strong knowledge in HR systems and applicational skills on Excel and PowerPoint - Analytical mind - Strong communication skills to engage with various levels of customers, ranging from Senior Commanders, HR practitioners, external agencies in MINDEF/SAF and servicemen - Ability to deal with people of different backgrounds and be sensitive when dealing with them (Applicants with no experience may apply.)
