What the role is
What you will be working on
The trainee will be offered an opportunity to develop expertise in payment processing systems, dispute management, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced environment. The role demands both technical proficiency and strong interpersonal skills, as you will be working closely with internal business users, external Payment Service Providers and Card Managers.
Key responsibilities:
Financial Reconciliation and System Management
• Review and revamp of cost of sales/inventory accounting/monitoring for Electronic Road Pricing equipment and Vehicle Entry Permit collections/refunds controls processes.
• Systematically track and verify collections received from various Payment Service Providers and Card Managers.
• Maintain accurate financial records and investigate any discrepancies that require resolution.
• Ensure compliance with established financial procedures and controls.
Refund Processing and Approval Management
• Manage the complete refund process from initiation to completion.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to secure necessary approvals for refund requests.
• Ensure all approved refunds are processed promptly to maintain customer satisfaction and comply with service standards.
• Maintain detailed records of all refund transactions and approvals.
Dispute Case Management and Resolution
• Oversee management and monitoring of customer dispute cases.
• Maintain detailed records of case progress and provide regular status updates.
• Track resolution timelines to ensure disputes are concluded within Payment Service Provider service level agreements.
• Escalate cases when necessary to prevent service level breaches.
What we are looking for
Essential Qualifications:
• Knowledge in Accountancy/Finance
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge in RPA and/or AI tools
Essential Qualities:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and documentation.
• Critical thinking skills to identify process inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborative mindset for cross-functional teamwork.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently.

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.
All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
- Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
- Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.
Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
