What the role is

MUIS is initiating the development of the Singapore College of Islamic Studies (SCIS) as part of the larger plans to strengthen the education and training opportunities for Singapore’s Islamic scholars and teachers.

We are seeking a versatile and experienced Marketing and Communications Manager to lead our college's marketing and communications initiatives. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to enhance the college's visibility, attract students, and promote our undergraduate, research, and postgraduate programmes.

The Marketing and Communications Manager will spearhead the development and implementation of the college's brand identity and comprehensive communications strategy. This role encompasses creating brand collaterals, overseeing website development, and executing public communications plans for the college and its programmes. The manager will be responsible for content creation, digital marketing, media relations, and stakeholder engagement. They will manage external vendors, ensure consistent messaging across all platforms, oversee budget allocation, and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives to college leadership. This position requires close collaboration with academic staff and senior management to effectively promote the college's offerings.

What you will be working on

Brand Development and Management:

  • Develop a coherent brand identity for the college and its programmes

  • Create and oversee the production of brand collaterals and brochures

  • Ensure consistent application of the brand identity across all marketing materials and communications

Website Development:

  • Define requirements and manage the process of engaging a suitable vendor to develop the SCIS website

  • Oversee the website development process, ensuring it aligns with the college's brand identity and communication goals

Strategic Communications Planning:

  • Prepare and implement immediate and long-term public communications plans for SCIS and individual programmes

  • Regularly review and update the communications plan to ensure its effectiveness and relevance

Content Creation and Management:

  • Produce high-quality content for various platforms, including the future website, social media, brochures, and press releases

  • Ensure consistent messaging across all communications channels

Vendor Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with external vendors for various marketing and communications projects, including website development and collateral production

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the marketing and communications budget, ensuring cost-effective delivery of all planned initiative

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with prospective students, college staff and leadership to effectively communicate programme offerings and research achievements

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and manage media relationships

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Establish KPIs for marketing and communications initiatives

  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of brand identity, website, and communications plans

  • Provide regular updates to college leadership on progress towards key deliverables

What we are looking for

  • Tertiary education in Marketing, Communications, or any related field

  • At least 5 to 7 years of experience in marketing and communications, with a strong focus on brand development and strategic communications planning

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing brand identities for organisations

  • Experience in managing website development projects and working with external vendors

  • Experience in higher education marketing is highly desirable

  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in graphic design software and content management systems

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously

Successful candidate will be appointed on contract basis.
