What the role is

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head/ Asst Director Corporate Services, to join the Singapore College of Islamic Studies (SCIS). This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a crucial part in building the corporate and administrative arm of our new college.

This role’s key responsibility is to support the Office of Administration & Academic Affairs in managing and coordinating the College's corporate services functions, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations and effective implementation of strategic initiatives to support the institution's academic, research, and administrative goals.

What you will be working on

Operational Management:

  • Assist in implementing strategic plans for corporate services aligned with the College's overall mission and objectives.

  • Coordinate day-to-day operations across corporate services departments, ensuring smooth functioning and efficient service delivery.

Financial Operations:

  • Support the management of the College's financial operations, including budget preparation and monitoring.

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and implementing financial controls.

Legal and Policy Support:

  • Aid in managing routine legal matters and ensure departmental compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Support the development and implementation of College policies and procedures within corporate services.

Communication and Marketing Coordination:

  • Assist in coordinating communication and marketing initiatives to support the College's reputation and recruitment efforts.

Partnership and Engagement Support:

  • Support the development and maintenance of partnerships with external stakeholders.

  • Assist in coordinating engagement activities to strengthen the College's community presence.

IT Systems Management:

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of IT systems for administrative functions.

  • Coordinate with IT staff to ensure systems meet the needs of corporate services departments.

Procurement Oversight:

  • Manage day-to-day procurement processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance with policies.

  • Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies.

Facilities and Space Management:

  • Coordinate facilities management activities and assist with space planning initiatives.

  • Oversee maintenance schedules and improvement projects for College facilities.

Human Resources Support:

  • Assist in implementing HR strategies and policies.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff development initiatives within corporate services.

Risk and Compliance:

  • Support risk assessment and management within corporate services functions.

  • Assist in ensuring departmental compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare regular reports on corporate services operations and key performance indicators.

  • Conduct analysis to support decision-making and process improvements.

What we are looking for

  • Tertiary education in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of management experience, preferably in higher education or a comparable organisation.

  • Strong understanding of corporate services functions and their role in supporting organisational objectives.

  • Proven track record in project management and implementing operational improvements.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in managing teams and collaborating across diverse departments.

Successful candidate will be appointed on contract basis.
