We are seeking an experienced Director of Investigation to lead our enforcement efforts against prohibited tobacco products, illegal pharmaceutical and controlled substance abuse, import and supply. This leadership position will oversee complex investigations into the illegal manufacture, import, and sale of tobacco, health products and medicinal substances, including e-vaporisers, adulterated and counterfeit medicines or medical devices, and scheduled poisons.

What you will be working on
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement comprehensive investigation strategies targeting illegal pharmaceutical networks, controlled substance trafficking, and unauthorised vaping product distribution
- Lead cross-functional teams of investigators, analysts, and enforcement officers, co-ordinating raids, seizures, and arrests in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies, and international partners
- Provide strategic direction on resource allocation and case prioritisation
Investigation Management
- Oversee complex investigations into e-vaporiser, etomidate trafficking networks and illegal pharmaceutical operations
- Direct investigations into unauthorised vaping products, including those containing controlled substances
- Manage surveillance operations (including for online offences), evidence collection, and case development
- Ensure investigations comply with legal frameworks and procedural requirements
- Developing standard operating procedures (SOP) for different types of offences, ensuring consistent application of enforcement policies
- Ensure investigations are completed timely and within target turnaround time (TAT)
- Oversee digital forensics and employ latest technologies to carry out effective investigations of cases.
International and Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with healthcare regulators, customs authorities, and law enforcement agencies
- Active participation at international enforcement platforms and building international networks to allow for quick information exchange on transnational enforcement matters
- Coordinate with international partners on cross-border investigations
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management and regulatory bodies
- Engage with industry stakeholders to identify emerging threats and trends
Team Development
- Recruit, train, and mentor investigation staff
- Establish performance standards, conduct regular case reviews
- Develop specialised expertise within the team on pharmaceutical crime and controlled substances and ensure team members receive appropriate training on evolving enforcement techniques and regulatory requirements
- Foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement
What we are looking for
- Strong background in Law, Criminal Justice, Pharmacy, or other related field
- Minimum 10 years of investigation experience, with at least 5 years in pharmaceutical crime, controlled substances, or regulatory enforcement
- Proven leadership experience managing investigation teams
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, controlled substance laws, and enforcement procedures
- Experience with complex financial investigations and asset tracing
- Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills
- Professional certifications in investigation or law enforcement
- Experience with international cooperation and mutual legal assistanc
- Knowledge of emerging trends in illegal pharmaceutical markets
- Familiarity with digital forensics and cyber investigation technique
- Multilingual capabilities
