What the role is

What the role is:
You will be providing support to the Policy & Planning department at NAC. In this role, you will assist with the various administrative and coordination functions that enable the smooth operation of the department’s core workstreams. Your work will span across secretariat duties, performance management support, and departmental coordination activities. You will serve as a key support resource helping to ensure continuity and efficiency in the department’s operations. You will be required to work closely with team members at various levels and assist with both routine administrative tasks and more complex coordination activities as needed. This role offers an opportunity to support NAC's strategic planning and policy development work for Singapore's arts sector.

What you will be working on

Secretariat Functions

  • Perform secretariat duties for key internal and external meetings including meeting and agenda coordination, meeting logistics, note-taking and following up on documentation (e.g. notes of meeting and matters arising).
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders / departments on meeting materials.
  • Assist with corporate planning events such as management and Board retreats, including logistics and event operations.
  • Assist with preparation of related documentation related to the NAC Board such as handbooks, manuals and SOPs.

Procurement & Admin

  • Assist the team with procurement of goods and services as necessary, including seeking necessary approvals and preparing relevant paperwork.
  • Assist the team with payments for goods and services received.
  • Assist Head of Department with calendar management.

The role may comprise any other requests made by the reporting officer and Head of Department.

What we are looking for

What we are looking for

  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience in public policy, business, economics, social sciences or related fields.
  • Entry level applicants are welcomed if they demonstrate key competencies in areas highlighted in the job description.
  • Skills and competencies preferably in business, economics, communications or related fields.
  • Inquisitive mind, strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Adept at working with numbers and good knowledge of Excel, as well as Word and Powerpoint. Familiarity with data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau) preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to deliver presentations and facilitate meetings
  • Team player who is proactive, independent and reliable to drive projects forward
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Experience in managing or running events (of any scale) will be an advantage
