What the role is
What you will be working on
This traineeship offers hands on experience in applying new technologies and concepts to carry out asset renewal developments. Asset information and attributes are being retrieved from the Master Inventory and GIS assets layers. Data analytics are carried out to optimize the lifecycle management of critical and other traffic and road assets, ensuring the road infrastructures remain functional to support Singapore’s resilient transport network.
Trainees will have the opportunities to liaise with various stakeholders and external vendors to identify the various asset renewal patterns and predict future operation and maintenance needs. Analyse large datasets with multi-dimensions related to both road civil and E&M assets including structural conditional/system health reports, usage statistics, environmental factors, and historical maintenance records to develop data-driven strategies and/or models to forecast asset degradation and identify optimal renewal timelines.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong communication skills to liaise with internal stakeholders for the collection and analyzing of data
Ability to process large data volume and comprehensive assets datasets
Develop risk-based prioritization renewal frameworks that balance public safety, service levels and cost effectiveness across LTA’s diverse road asset portfolio.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship
The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.
All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
- Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
- Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.
Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
