What the role is

Join our Centre of Excellence (COE) within the HR & Payroll cluster as an Ops-Tech Specialist Trainee. The COE drives operational excellence through process improvements, automation, performance monitoring and conducting data analytics to enable better decision-making across VITAL’s operations. This traineeship offers candidates an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital transformation and process optimisation within a government setting.

What you will be working on

You will support the Centre of Excellence (COE) in: • Process automation using Robotics Process Automation (RPA) tools such as UiPath • Dashboard development using tools like Power BI or similar data visualisation platforms to create meaningful insights for stakeholders • Data preparation and analysis including data cleansing, validation and transformation to support business intelligence initiatives • Process review and improvement by identifying streamlining opportunities and recommending solutions • Stakeholder engagement to understand business requirements and present findings

What we are looking for

• Experienced in the use of digital and data tools such as Excel, Power BI, Python or similar • Passion for technology and its practical applications in improving business processes • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills • Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving digital landscapes

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
