What the role is

The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of NParks, safeguards the health and welfare of animals through comprehensive and integrated programmes. AVS works closely with partners in the veterinary and animal-related industries to strengthen capacities and enhance competencies in animal health and welfare. It is the main touch-point on animal and veterinary matters in Singapore and the First Responder for all animal-related feedback. It also conducts public education and engagement programmes to foster a humane and gracious society for all, where pet owners, communities, and animals co-exist in harmony within our biophilic City in Nature.

What you will be working on

[What the role is]

The Veterinary Science Programmes team under the Community Animal Management Division of AVS develops policies and programmes for community animal management, carries out research to support policy making and operations, and engages stakeholders on these policies and programmes. We are looking for a detail-oriented Administrative Officer to support our programmes and operations.

[What you will be working on]

•    Processing and verifying grant reimbursement claims (including reviewing supporting documentation and verifying receipts) in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 
•    Liaising with claimants to resolve discrepancies and facilitate timely reimbursements
•    Maintaining accurate records of the grant programmes, updating tracking systems and databases.
•    Data entry, report preparation, and document management
•    Administrative duties including procurement of services and secretariat support
•    Any other duties as required to ensure the daily function of the Branch, including assisting with event operations

What we are looking for

•    Meticulous and reliable with a focus on maintaining data integrity and accuracy.
•    Highly motivated and proactive
•    Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with diverse stakeholders, external partners, and members of the public 
•    Able to work independently and multitask effectively
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 
•    Experience with government administrative or public sector processes would be advantageous

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified. Successful candidates will be offered a 11-month employment contract.
