What the role is
What you will be working on
This project offers trainee the unique opportunity to contribute (through gamification) in the development of an educational board game, aimed at raising public awareness about the real-world challenges of constructing commuter infrastructure such as sheltered linkways, cycling paths, pedestrian bridge lifts, and bus stops in Singapore.
Project tasks could include the following:
- Game Design & Development
- Content & Scenario Crafting
- Visual & Graphic Design
- Marketing & Outreach Strategy
- Project Coordination & Documentation
As part of the training, the trainee would be exposed to elements of civil engineering, urban planning, stakeholder engagement and project management.
What we are looking for
The trainee should preferably have interests and attributes in:
- construction of transport/commuter infrastructure amidst urban planning constraints;
- developing logic-based systems and board/digital game mechanics;
- creative writing, user-experience storytelling and stakeholder empathy;
- working with interdisciplinary teams; and
- undertaking iterative design processes.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship
The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.
All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
- Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
- Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.
Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
