Senior Assistant Director (Vector Control Policy Branch)

What the role is

In the Vector Control Policy Branch (VCPB), you will lead a team to draw up and enhance vector control policies across dengue control, rat control, pest management, fumigation, and regulatory schemes.

We are looking for a leader with excellent strategic-thinking and analytical skills who can assess and frame complex issues clearly, embrace innovative approaches, engage and communicate effectively, with the perseverance to push boundaries whilst developing a high-performing team.

What you will be working on

Lead and manage a team providing supervision, performance management, and capability development
Manage timelines and deliverables across vector control policy initiatives, tracking dependencies and adherence to deadline
Lead policy development for priority areas including dengue control, rat control, pest management, fumigation, pesticides registration and Environmental Control Officer (ECO) for Specified Construction Sites (SCS) scheme
Drive reviews of operational policies and procedures to support NEA's strategic objectives and keep policies up to date
Coordinate funding papers and review of manpower needs for NEA’s vector control operations
Coordinate stakeholder engagement with government agencies, industry, and community groups
Coordinate legislative review processes and prepare inputs for Act amendments
Handle complex policy queries and appeals
Other adhoc duties

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate would possess the following qualities:

Relevant experience in policy formulation and stakeholder engagement
Strong project management and leadership capabilities with proven ability to manage section leads across diverse policy portfolios
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with openness to innovative approaches and perseverance to drive continuous improvement
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
