The Policy Planning and Research Division overseas 4 strategic areas – (1) Statistics, (2) International Affairs, (3) Planning, and (4) Policy and Research.
The jobholder will lead a team within the Statistics Cluster, overseeing the strategic management, analysis, and reporting of drug-related statistics. This role includes supervisory responsibilities, project management of data visualisation initiatives, and providing analytical support for internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving data excellence, optimising statistical processes, and ensuring data insights support CNB’s operational and policy objectives.

What you will be working on
Key Responsibilities
1) Team Leadership and Statistical Oversight
• Supervise a team of officers in the collation, validation, and analysis of drug statistics, ensuring high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
• Identify areas for improvement in statistical workflows and implement process enhancements to optimise efficiency and data integrity.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior officers, fostering analytical capabilities and data literacy across the team.
2) Data Analysis and Reporting
• Oversee the analysis of drug trends for regular internal reports, public statistical releases, and presentations to management, government agencies, and external stakeholders.
• Lead the development of ad-hoc analytical papers on key and emerging drug trends to support policy formulation and operational decision-making.
3) Strategic Tableau Implementation
• Lead the planning and execution of CNB’s three-year Tableau onboarding roadmap, ensuring alignment with organisational data strategy.
• Manage vendor engagements, including procurement and training arrangements, to ensure CNB officers are adequately equipped for Tableau use.
• Work with internal stakeholders across divisions to encourage adoption of Tableau, address user queries, and support data visualisation initiatives that enhance productivity and insight delivery.
4) Data Governance and External Engagements
• Support data management and governance efforts, including formulation of policies and practices for secure and effective data use.
• Represent the Statistics Cluster in key meetings, including Departmental Exco, Ministerial briefings, and other high-level engagements.
• Provide data and statistical support for external requests, including Parliamentary queries, Committee of Supply debates, and media responses.
5) Other Responsibilities
• Contribute to cross-divisional data initiatives and projects.
• Ensure alignment of statistical outputs with broader CNB priorities and national drug control strategies.
What we are looking for
Job Requirements:
• A degree in any discipline.
• Must be comfort in working with numbers and performing statistical evaluations
• Familiarity with Tableau and data visualisation, professional experience in these areas will be an advantage.
• Experience in Tableau training will be an advantage.
• Meticulous and possess strong analytical skills.
• Competent in Tableau, Microsoft Office Software, particularly MS Powerpoint, Access and Excel.
• He / she must be able to write and communicate well. Competent presentation skills would be an advantage.
