What the role is

In recent years, global supply chains are increasingly being scrutinised for their ability to withstand shocks. As a small and open economy with limited natural resources, Singapore is import dependent and is also highly susceptible to global disruptions. The Supply Chain and Economic Resilience Division (SCERD) serves as the whole-of-Government supply chain resilience lead and is responsible for ensuring the resilience of Singapore’s critical supply chains and ensuring operational preparedness during national emergency and peacetime crises. SCERD also oversees building and institutionalising resilience and crisis management capabilities in the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

What you will be working on

You will oversee a dynamic Policy team that is responsible for crafting relevant strategies and developing innovative proposals, in partnership with various internal and external stakeholders. You will examine issues from multiple perspectives, lead analysis work, assess the trade-offs, and work with other government agencies and relevant stakeholders in the following workstreams: •Whole-of-Government Supply Chain Resilience Lead: Lead national effort to develop long-term strategies and build capabilities to secure the resilience of Singapore’s supply chains for essential and critical goods and services; and • International Partnerships: Taking reference from supply chain resilience strategies and plans from sector leads, and Singapore’s interests in global supply chains, to identify, prioritise and develop international partnerships that would strengthen Singapore’s resilience of critical supply chains.

What we are looking for

Candidates should possess the following: • 2 or more years of managerial experience and/or proven ability to manage and deliver high impact projects; • Experience in strategic planning and/or policy development. Prior experience working on whole-of-government workstreams will be beneficial; • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information; • Prior experience working on international agreements and experience in negotiations will be beneficial; • Experience in multi-stakeholder engagement and effective persuasion and influencing skills; • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; • Strong drive, attention to detail and resourcefulness.
