What the role is
What you will be working on
- Plan and forecast monthly safety inspection schedule for unit's high risk activities
- Conduct regular workplace safety inspections as per schedule and submit reports to unit commanding officer
- Enforce compliance of safety regulations, directives, instructions and safety standards by personnel under the unit
- Conduct safety investigations as necessary or as directed
- Collate and process safety data for safety analysis for conferences
- Check, collate and distribute safety education materials for the unit
- Collate safety lessons learnt for dissemination to the unit
- Advise commanders in safety aspects during conduct of training or organised activities
Challenge(s)
- Having deep understanding of Army's Safety system and culture, policies and directives that guide local and overseas training
- Having in-depth understanding of policies, systems, processes and key stakeholder linkages
- Ensuring training conducted adheres to safe policies
- Communicating policies and implementation clearly to all stakeholders
- Acting as deterrent on safety breaches and recommending corrective measures
- Maintaining professional relationships with multiple stakeholders
What we are looking for
- Previous experience holding safety related appointments and knowledge of inspection and audit skills
- Experience in training institutes is preferred
- Strong planning and execution skills to manage safety-related matters
- Outfield experiences to provide constructive feedback during outfield training inspections and audits
- Basic IT skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Data Analytics
- Mature, tactful and professional in dealing with multiple stakeholders
- Agile and resourceful individual who can adapt to changes in dynamic training environment
- Ability to work in team environment
- Ability to be deployed overseas
