What the role is

Develop models to estimate the quarterly revenue of firms in specific industries.

What you will be working on

- Research and Ideation: Conduct thorough research and brainstorming sessions to identify potential modelling techniques. - Data Analytics Projects: Engage in the end-to-end data analytics processes, from initial conceptualization of the modelling techniques and suitable predictors to detailed analysis of the results from proposed models and predictors. - Innovative Solutions: Apply innovative thinking and technical expertise to develop solutions that provide new insights and add value. Potential Competencies that can be developed: - He/she will be able to gain proficiency in building and evaluating predictive models through hands-on experience with regrssion, time-series and machine learning models. - He/she will also learn to transform raw data into predictive variables, e.g. seasonality, lagged indicators, categorical codings etc. - He/she will be able to sharpen his/her communication and presentation skills through frequent discussions and presentations to senior management, effectively translating technical findings into strategic insights.

What we are looking for

- Proficient in Python, i.e. applicant is able to develop and create the models in Python directly. - Basic knowledge in modelling.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
